This girl has the greatest sense of humor! I found her uploading these pictures to FaceBook....how funny is that?!?! She took some photos of herself and then typed in the title "Need a Snow Day?" then went on to describe the myth to everyone of her FB friends about if you wear your pjs Inside Out and Backwards the chance of a snow day the next morning increases greatly.....I think I will be giving a try as well....I could use a day at home! One of the prompts from Lain was to create a grid style layout using a digital template. I had printed these photos....4 to a 4x6 so they were pretty small and worked great for this concept. Thanks, Lain!

I purchased a couple of emagazines / idea books from Scrapbook Trends that I looked at this weekend. I love their layouts! Their subscription is soooo expensive. The "e" versions were $5 each....it doesn't seem so bad when you look at it that way but then I multiplied it by 12....Ouch!

Boy, did I struggle tonight! I couldn't find the photos I wanted to scrap and then just couldn't seem to rally and find another set. I settled on these. I am so pleased that I was able to fit 5 photos on an 8x11! Hopefully tomorrow goes smoother....
I used this sketch as a starting point but the one photo would not cooperate so I trimmed it even smaller then added the two itty bitty that I had another plan for....oh well!

Here it is! I went together pretty quickly, even though I debated a llittle long about pattern papers and the colors clashing. I lucked out and found the pink stripe from Pebbles Inc.! Perfect!

Ella Challenge Sketch #1
What fun! Lain would be proud too! Less than 30 minutes to complete and I'm already posting it! Arrh!!
Photographing a Rainbow
For the class Inspiration Defined, Elizabeth asked us to photograph a rainbow...I'd love to but...it's the middle of winter and it's ugly. I've looked around for bright spots of color but they just aren't the same without their naturally green surroundings and bright blue skies. So I decided to flip through my photos to see what inspiration I could find there. Here's what I learned.... I have an abundance of red! It's my favorite color, may delicious foods are red and it's the color of the Huskers!
For orange...I have this great photo of the top of a pumpkin, stem and all but I can not find it so I found this one as a second favorite!
This is what I found for yellow...Bachelor Buttons! I did not have much to chose from so I was pleased with this find!
Green...not inspired by this color really at all but here's a favorite photo. I do not find myself using many greens in my scrapbooking choices. I thing that's because there are so many different tones to green that they either look gray or yellow to me. Garden green is one of my favorite cardstock colors that can be found at Pebbles in My Pocket.
Blue. Evidently I am not very inspired by this color either although I did not realize it. As I think about my layouts, I do not choose this color often either. So in my search for something blue I found this... let me hear an "awww, how cute!" from the croud!
Violet, better known as purple, was a tough one to find many photos to choose from but I knew which photo I could find immediately. Here it is! The gift shop at Hazel's Pumpkin Patch in Lodgepoole, NE. Too cute too spook...that's for sure!

In the money!
It's my month to host Bunco and our group as decided to make a few changes in the New Year. I am excited about the changes....simplify is the bottom line. So instead of shopping for prizes in a thematic category (snowmen, fall, valentines, flowers, Huskers, etc.) we will be awarding cash prizes. I am the first to award cash prizes so I thought it would be fun to create some little cash holders. As I typed the title for this post, I was thinking of all the sayings that focus on money.

Inspiration Defined
I am taking a class at Big Picture Scrapbooking by Elizabeth Dillow called Inspiration Defined. I registered a little late so I am late in getting my "homework" done. This is my first completed project. We were to make a list of things that inspire us....so I did. Then we were asked to make the list visual....she suggested using www.bighugelabs.com to make a mosaic! Easy!!

Day 31 (Oct. LOAD 09)
Happy Halloween! Tanner was a MAD scientist with lab rat carefully tacked onto his shoulder and Amanda was a darling cowgirl with beautiful long blond curls, pink hat and new Justin boots! What a combination! We started out early....about 5:15 p.m. and were home around 8:30 p.m. That's a record for us! Usually it is much later (and a school night).

Thirty layouts down and one to go!
I actually got more 30 done so far this month but 12 x 12s are just a pain to scan and stitch or photograph and the post. I worked on more layouts for the kids' school albums last weekend.
Today was a snow day. No school in many surrounding area towns as well. So it feels like a Saturday with laundry chores and dusting....so maybe tomorrow I can journal and organize my 365 album a little! (did I say that out loud? Is typing it the same as saying it out loud? If so, I may have just jinxed myself...afterall it is Halloween and I need to gather a few props for Tanner's costume.)

I took the photo of L.'s piggies with no true plan other than the title at the top with the double meaning word. I then used this photo in my summer Jessica Sprague photo editting class. Later I knew I wanted to use this layout design with this photo. I have to say that this is one of those photo that makes me swoon! (WriteClickScrapbook blog post this week)

Just finished this layout! Wow, it's late!
I now need to work on a Halloween album as a donation for Ike's Fun Night. A. helped bake and decorate 3 cakes. C. helped make table tents and labels for Raffle Prize bags and T. just tried to understand and stay away. He said, "I feel like we are doing everything!" Not quite but a lot!

I looked and looked and looked for this conversation...I remember I chicken scratched it onto a hot pink piece of paper. I decided that maybe I lost it and then completed a search on the computer using a document that I thought I might have used. Sure enough, there it was already typed into the computer! Whew! I was would have been devasted if I'd lost this one! Enjoy!

I started another project! ugh! I have just added to the pile of things to "finish"! I think this one could be quick if I'd just get busy and find all the photos! I have four of 13....not bad, right?!?!
Fall and Halloween are two of my favorite things because of the colors and permission to dress up and use your imagination to pretend...for fun! (I don't like all the gore that can go with the holiday.)

Seriously, I didn't think I would make it today. Squeaking in with about 45 minutes to spare. Evidently, I had a tough day...overstimulated when I got home and couldn't settle in to focus until everyone was in bed. This was the first day/night that I really struggled to get a layout together. I guess, that's pretty good for 22 days! Isn't it 21 days to make a habit? My family will hate me forever, if I continue at this rate!

Finally! It took me forever to complete this layout last night! I couldn't decide on paper, made the december journal spot and had to print photos! T. was terribly needy - mostly wanted his mom's attention! What should have taken less than an hour, took me nearly 2.5 hours! Yikes! Tonight I am making the second half of the page!

Now it is officially halfway through the month! 16 layouts in 16 days. I have followed some of the plans I made but have wandered off with a few of the daily prompts that Lain has given. It is a great way to get a lot done! This one goes into my 8x8 album titled "me @ 35". Since I'm older than that....I need to finish it before the next milestone arrives!

Today I made a realization. I have a routine, a pattern, a habit...but I didn't realize it until today.
I'm in the knitting shop purchasing a hank of Halloween colored yarn. The owner of the shop has to wind the hank into a ball in order for me to successfully use it without tons of tangles. She set the ball down and it nearly took my breath away....don't laugh! It was the color all wound together neat and tidy. I fell in love. I don't think I can knit it...it's perfect just the way it is.
Now here's the part when I make my realization. Each day on my "lunch" break I stroll through the magazine aisle at the grocery store, stop by the scrapbook store, cruise scrapbook galleries on the internet and today I found myself at the knitting shop. What do all these things have in common? COLOR! I "feast" on color for "lunch"! I love color especially this time of year. Fall offers the very best and richest colors. Color makes me happy and it evidently is a necessity during my day to make it a little bit brighter and happier.

Project 365
I spent nearly an hour last night playing catch up with my 365 project...gathering photos from a number of sources: my phone and camera, C's phone and camera and A's camera. I have missed a few days and will have to be creative and fill in. Life is sometimes too busy to photograph!
